BAFTA TV Awards: It’s A Sin leads nominations after making the shortlist in 11 categories

It’s A Sin has swept the BAFTA TV Awards with 11 nominations, including best mini-series, leading actor and leading actress.

True crime black comedy-drama Landscapers, which was co-produced by Sky and starred Olivia Colman and David Thewlis, was close behind with seven nominations.

Set in London from 1981 to 1991, It’s A Sin follows the lives of a group of gay men and their friends who lived during the HIV/AIDs crisis in the UK and was written and created by Queer As Folk and Doctor Who screenwriter Russell T Davies.

It received critical acclaim for its emotional scenes, writing and depiction of AIDS, and stars Years & Years singer Olly Alexander.
